Sound: Very, very appropriate to the themes and the personalities of the skaters.Ĭharacters: This is one of the best parts of YOI-the character development. (My score for this will be added to the story score.)Īnimation: The animation was FLUID! The details, the movements-they were all executed pretty well! The art actually made me drawn to watch real-life skating. Technicalities: I want to thank the creators of this anime for actually educating me about competitive figure skating since they didn't fail to explain how the system works. Though it starts off simply, the plot unfolds into a very interesting one through the twists and turns it has. YOI successfully balances out the drama and the comedy in the life of all the characters. It simply goes this way, you lose hope in life and you are pretty sure that it all ends there however, what if suddenly, a person appears to bring spark to your life, ignites it, and puts it on fire? This is exactly what happened to Yuri in YOI. Story: YOI really exceeded my expectations. (Anyway, since Yuri!!! on ICE contains 14 characters including spaces, let me refer to it as 'YOI' from this point on.) Yuri!!! on ICE doesn't suit everyone's tastes, but I can say that it is definitely an anime that saved 2016.
